Procedure for Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are applied to the teeth after a thorough cleaning. A special laser is used to remove debris and plaque from the teeth. The teeth are then rinsed and dried. The sealant is then painted onto the teeth, where it bonds to the surface of the tooth. The sealant coats the deep grooves and ridges of the teeth, creating a smooth surface.  The liquid is hardened and creates a barrier between the tooth enamel and acids.
